Simmer rouhgly chopped tomatoes, seasoned with salt, pepper and sugar and vinegar.

Add ketchup to taste.

When tomatoes have dissolved, strain and return soup to pot.

Boil and sift in flour to thicken.

Serve hot or chilled.
